Ruth 1 3 Et mortuus est Elimelech maritus Noemi : remansitque ipsa cum filiis. And Elimelech the husband of Noemi died: and she remained with her sons. Καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ἐλιμέλεχ ὁ ἀνὴρ τῆς Νωεμὶν, καὶ κατελείφθη αὕτη καὶ οἱ δύο υἱοὶ αὐτῆς.
Ruth 1 15 cui dixit Noemi : En reversa est cognata tua ad populum suum, et ad deos suos, vade cum ea. And Noemi said to her: Behold thy kinswoman is returned to her people, and to her gods, go thou with her. Καὶ εἶπε Νωεμῖν πρὸς Ῥοὺθ, ἰδοὺ ἀνέστρεψε σύννυμφός σου πρὸς λαὸν αὐτῆς καὶ πρὸς τοὺς θεοὺς αὐτῆς· ἐπιστράφηθι δὴ καὶ σὺ ὀπίσω τῆς συννύμφου σου.
Ruth 1 18 Videns ergo Noemi quod obstinato animo Ruth decrevisset secum pergere, adversari noluit, nec ad suos ultra reditum persuadere : Then Noemi seeing that Ruth was steadfastly determined to go with her, would not be against it, nor persuade her any more to return to her friends: Ἰδοῦσα δὲ Νωεμὶν ὅτι κραταιοῦται αὐτὴ τοῦ πορεύεσθαι μετʼ αὐτῆς, ἐκόπασε τοῦ λαλῆσαι πρὸς αὐτὴν ἔτι.
Ruth 1 19 profectaeque sunt simul, et venerunt in Bethlehem. Quibus urbem ingressis, velox apud cunctos fama percrebruit : dicebantque mulieres : Haec est illa Noemi. So they went together, and came to Bethlehem. And when they were come into the city, the report was quickly spread among all: and the women said: This is that Noemi. Ἐπορεύθησαν δὲ ἀμφότεραι, ἕως τοῦ παραγενέσθαι αὐτὰς εἰς Βηθλεέμ· καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐλθεῖν αὐτὰς εἰς Βηθλεὲμ, καὶ ἤχησε πᾶσα ἡ πόλις ἐπʼ αὐταῖς, καὶ εἶπον, εἰ αὕτη ἐστὶ Νωεμίν;
Ruth 1 20 Quibus ait : Ne vocetis me Noemi (id est, pulchram), sed vocate me Mara (id est, amaram), quia amaritudine valde replevit me Omnipotens. But she said to them: Call me not Noemi (that is, beautiful,) but call me Mara (that is, bitter), for the Almighty hath quite filled me with bitterness. Καὶ εἶπε πρὸς αὐτὰς, μὴ δὴ καλεῖτέ με Νωεμίν· καλέσατέ με πικρὰν, ὅτι ἐπικράνθη ἐν ἐμοὶ ὁ ἱκανὸς σφόδρα.
Ruth 1 21 Egressa sum plena, et vacuam reduxit me Dominus. Cur ergo vocatis me Noemi, quam Dominus humiliavit, et afflixit Omnipotens ? I went out full and the Lord hath brought me back empty. Why then do you call me Noemi, whom the Lord hath humbled, and the Almighty hath afflicted? Ruth 1 22 Venit ergo Noemi cum Ruth Moabitide nuru sua, de terra peregrinationis suae : ac reversa est in Bethlehem, quando primum hordea metebantur. So Noemi came with Ruth, the Moabitess, her daughter in law, from the land of her sojournment: and returned into Bethlehem, in the beginning of the barley harvest. None

Ruth 2 20 Cui respondit Noemi : Benedictus sit a Domino : quoniam eamdem gratiam, quam praebuerat vivis, servavit et mortuis. Rursumque ait : Propinquus noster est homo. And Noemi answered her: Blessed be he of the Lord: because the same kindness which he shewed to the living, he hath kept also to the dead. And again she said: The man is our kinsman. Εἶπε δὲ Νωεμὶν τῇ νύμφῃ αὐτῆς, εὐλογητός ἐστι τῷ Κυρίῳ, ὅτι οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπε τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ζώντων καὶ μετὰ τῶν τεθνηκότων· καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Νωεμὶν, ἐγγίζει ἡμῖν ὁ ἀνὴρ, ἐκ τῶν ἀγχιστευόντων ἡμῖν ἐστι.
Ruth 3 1 Postquam autem reversa est ad socrum suam, audivit ab ea : Filia mea, quaeram tibi requiem, et providebo ut bene sit tibi. After she was returned to her mother in law, Noemi said to her: My daughter, I will seek rest for thee, and will provide that it may be well with thee. Καὶ ἐκάθισε μετὰ τῆς πενθερᾶς αὐτῆς· εἶπε δὲ αὐτῇ Νωεμὶν ἡ πενθερὰ αὐτῆς, θύγατερ, οὐ μὴ ζητήσω σοι ἀνάπαυσιν, ἵνα εὖ γένηταί σοι;
Ruth 3 18 Dixitque Noemi : Expecta, filia, donec videamus quem res exitum habeat : neque enim cessabit homo, nisi compleverit quod locutus est. And Noemi said: Wait, my daughter, till we see what end the thing will have. For the man will not rest until he have accomplished what he hath said. None
Ruth 4 3 Quibus sedentibus, locutus est ad propinquum : Partem agri fratris nostri Elimelech vendet Noemi, quae reversa est de regione Moabitide : They sat down, and he spoke to the kinsman: Noemi, who is returned from the country of Moab will sell a parcel of land that belonged to our brother Elimelech. Ruth 4 9 At ille majoribus natu, et universo populo : Testes vos, inquit, estis hodie, quod possederim omnis quae fuerunt Elimelech, et Chelion, et Mahalon, tradente Noemi ; And he said to the ancients, and to all the people: You are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and Chelion's, and Mahalon's, of the hand of Noemi: Καὶ εἶπε Βοὸζ τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις καὶ παντὶ τῷ λαῷ, μάρτυρες ὑμεῖς σήμερον, ὅτι κέκτημαι πάντα τὰ τοῦ Ἐλιμέλεχ, καὶ πάντα ὅσα ὑπάρχει τῷ Χελαιὼν καὶ τῷ Μααλὼν ἐκ χειρὸς Νωεμίν.
Ruth 4 14 Dixeruntque mulieres ad Noemi : Benedictus Dominus, qui non est passus ut deficeret successor familiae tuae, et vocaretur nomen ejus in Israel : And the women said to Noemi: Blessed be the Lord, who hath not suffered thy family to want a successor: that his name should be preserved in Israel. Καὶ εἶπαν αἱ γυναῖκες πρὸς Νωεμὶν, εὐλογητὸς Κύριος, ὃς οὐ κατέλυσέ σοι σήμερον τὸν ἀγχιστέα, καὶ καλέσαι τὸ ὄνομά σου ἑν Ἰσραήλ.
Ruth 4 16 Susceptumque Noemi puerum posuit in sinu suo, et nutricis ac gerulae fungebatur officio. And Noemi taking the child, laid it in her bosom, and she carried it, and was a nurse unto it. Καὶ ἔλαβε Νωεμὶν τὸ παιδίον, καὶ ἔθηκεν εἰς τὸν κόλπον αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐγενήθη αὐτῷ εἰς τιθηνόν.
Ruth 4 17 Vicinae autem mulieris congratulantes ei, et dicentes : Natus est filius Noemi : vocaverunt nomen ejus Obed : hic est pater Isai, patris David. And the women, her neighbours, congratulating with her, and saying, There is a son born to Noemi, called his name Obed: he is the father of Isai, the father of David. Καὶ ἐκάλεσαν αὐτοῦ αἱ γείτονες ὄνομα, λέγουσαι, ἐτέχθη υἱὸς τῇ Νωεμίν. καὶ ἐκάλεσαν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, Ὠβήδ· οὗτος πατὴρ Ἰεσσαὶ πατρὸς Δαυίδ.
