Exodus 34 10 Respondit Dominus : Ego inibo pactum videntibus cunctis : signa faciam quae numquam visa sunt super terram, nec in ullis gentibus, ut cernat populus iste, in cujus es medio, opus Domini terribile quod facturus sum. The Lord answered: I will make a covenant in the sight of all, I will do signs such as were never seen upon the earth, nor in any nations; that this people, in the midst of whom thou art, may see the terrible work of the Lord which I will do. Καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν, Ἰδοὺ, ἐγὼ τίθημί σοι διαθήκην ἐνώπιον παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ σοῦ, ποιήσω ἔνδοξα, ἃ οὐ γέγονεν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ, καὶ ἐν παντὶ ἔθνει· καὶ ὄψεται πᾶς ὁ λαὸς, ἐν οἷς εἶ σὺ, τὰ ἔργα Κυρίου, ὅτι θαυμαστά ἐστιν, ἃ ἐγὼ ποιήσω σοι.
2_Paralipomenon 36 14 Sed et universi principes sacerdotum et populus praevaricati sunt inique juxta universas abominationes gentium, et polluerunt domum Domini quam sanctificaverat sibi in Jerusalem. Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people wickedly transgressed according to all the abominations of the Gentiles: and they defiled the house of the Lord, which he had sanctified to himself in Jerusalem. Isaias 5 14 Propterea dilatavit infernus animam suam, et aperuit os suum absque ullo termino ; et descendent fortes ejus, et populus ejus, et sublimes gloriosique ejus, ad eum. Therefore hath hell enlarged her soul, and opened her mouth without any bounds, and their strong ones, and their people, and their high and glorious ones shall go down into it. Isaias 23 9 Dominus exercituum cogitavit hoc, ut detraheret superbiam omnis gloriae, et ad ignominiam deduceret universos inclytos terrae. The Lord of hosts hath designed it, to pull down the pride of all glory, and bring to disgrace all the glorious ones of the earth. Isaias 24 15 Propter hoc in doctrinis glorificate Dominum ; in insulis maris nomen Domini Dei Israel. Therefore glorify ye the Lord in instruction: the name of the Lord God of Israel in the islands of the sea. Διατοῦτο ἡ δόξα Κυρίου ἐν ταῖς νήσοις ἔσται τῆς θαλάσσης, τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου ἔνδοξον ἔσται.
Isaias 26 15 Indulsisti genti, Domine, indulsisti genti, numquid glorificatus es ? elongasti omnes terminos terrae. Thou hast been favourable to the nation, O Lord, thou hast been favourable to the nation: art thou glorified? thou hast removed all the ends of the earth far off. And when he said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the things that were gloriously done by him. We are fools for Christs sake, but you are wise in Christ: we are weak, but you are strong: you are honourable, but we without honour. Ephesians 5 27 ut exhiberet ipse sibi gloriosam Ecclesiam, non habentem maculam, aut rugam, aut aliquid hujusmodi, sed ut sit sancta et immaculata. That he might present it to himself, a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. ἵνα παραστήσῃ αὐτὴν ἑαυτῷ ἔνδοξον τὴν ἐκκλησίαν, μὴ ἔχουσαν σπῖλον ἢ ῥυτίδα ἤ τι τῶν τοιούτων, ἀλλ’ ἵνα ᾖ ἁγία καὶ ἄμωμος."
