107:1 Canticum Psalmi, ipsi David.
*H A canticle of a psalm for David himself.
Ver. 1. Himself. By repeating here what occurs in Ps. lvi. and lix. David teaches us to excite our fervour by such sentiments as have formerly made an impression upon us. Bert. — He spoke before of his own victories: now he considers those of Christ, and of his Church, (Geneb.) as well as the state of the captives. Theod. C.
Ὠδὴ ψαλμοῦ τῷ Δαυίδ.
שִׁ֖יר מִזְמ֣וֹר לְ/דָוִֽד ׃
107:2 [Paratum cor meum, Deus, paratum cor meum ; cantabo, et psallam in gloria mea.
*H My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready: I will sing, and will give praise, with my glory.
Ver. 2. My heart, &c. Is not repeated in Heb. But it is, Ps. lvi. 8.
Ἑτοίμη ἡ καρδία μου ὁ Θεὸς, ἑτοίμη ἡ καρδία μου, ᾄσομαι καὶ ψαλῶ ἐν τῇ δόξῃ μου.
נָכ֣וֹן לִבִּ֣/י אֱלֹהִ֑ים אָשִׁ֥ירָה וַ֝/אֲזַמְּרָ֗ה אַף ־ כְּבוֹדִֽ/י ׃
107:3 Exsurge, gloria mea ; exsurge, psalterium et cithara ; exsurgam diluculo.
*H Arise, my glory; arise, psaltery and harp: I will arise in the morning early.
Ver. 3. Arise, my glory. Is found also in this psalm, though not here in Heb. &c. S. Jerom (ad Sun.) thinks some copyist has inserted it. C. — But it seems to be here in its proper place. Bert.
Ἐξεγέρθητι ψαλτήριον καὶ κιθάρα, ἐξεγερθήσομαι ὄρθρου.
ע֭וּרָֽ/ה הַ/נֵּ֥בֶל וְ/כִנּ֗וֹר אָעִ֥ירָה שָּֽׁחַר ׃
107:4 Confitebor tibi in populis, Domine, et psallam tibi in nationibus :
*H I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing unto thee among the nations.
Ver. 4. Nations. David made various conquests, which prefigured those of Christ, to whom the rest of the psalm belongs. S. Aug. W.
Ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι ἐν λαοῖς Κύριε, ψαλῶ σοι ἐν ἔθνεσιν.
אוֹדְ/ךָ֖ בָ/עַמִּ֥ים ׀ יְהוָ֑ה וַ֝/אֲזַמֶּרְ/ךָ֗ בַּל ־ אֻמִּֽים ׃
107:5 quia magna est super caelos misericordia tua, et usque ad nubes veritas tua.
For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth even unto the clouds.
Ὅτι μέγα ἐπάνω τῶν οὐρανῶν τὸ ἔλεός σου, καὶ ἕως τῶν νεφελῶν ἡ ἀλήθειά σου.
כִּֽי ־ גָד֣וֹל מֵֽ/עַל ־ שָׁמַ֣יִם חַסְדֶּ֑/ךָ וְֽ/עַד ־ שְׁחָקִ֥ים אֲמִתֶּֽ/ךָ ׃
107:6 Exaltare super caelos, Deus, et super omnem terram gloria tua :
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory over all the earth:
Ὑψώθητι ἐπὶ τοὺς οὐρανοὺς, ὁ Θεὸς, καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἡ δόξα σου.
ר֣וּמָ/ה עַל ־ שָׁמַ֣יִם אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְ/עַ֖ל כָּל ־ הָ/אָ֣רֶץ כְּבוֹדֶֽ/ךָ ׃
107:7 ut liberentur dilecti tui. Salvum fac dextera tua, et exaudi me.
*H That thy beloved may be delivered. Save with thy right hand and hear me.

Ὅπως ἂν ῥυσθῶσιν οἱ ἀγαπητοί σου, σῶσον τῇ δεξιᾷ σου, καὶ ἐπάκουσόν μου.
לְ֭מַעַן יֵחָלְצ֣וּ/ן יְדִידֶ֑י/ךָ הוֹשִׁ֖יעָ/ה יְמִֽינְ/ךָ֣ וַ/עֲנֵֽ/נִי ׃
107:8 Deus locutus est in sancto suo : Exsultabo, et dividam Sichimam ; et convallem tabernaculorum dimetiar.
*H God hath spoken in his holiness. I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem and I will mete out the vale of tabernacles.
Ver. 8. Holiness. Or holy one, sancto: (H.) meaning Jeremias xxv. 11. who foretold the end of the captivity, (C.) or David himself, and the Messias, his son, in whom he will rejoice. H.
Ὁ Θεὸς ἐλάλησεν ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ αὐτοῦ, ὑψωθήσομαι καὶ διαμεριῶ Σίκιμα, καὶ τὴν κοιλάδα τῶν σκηνῶν διαμετρήσω.
אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ דִּבֶּ֥ר בְּ/קָדְשׁ֗/וֹ אֶעְלֹ֥זָה אֲחַלְּקָ֥ה שְׁכֶ֑ם וְ/עֵ֖מֶק סֻכּ֣וֹת אֲמַדֵּֽד ׃
107:9 Meus est Galaad, et meus est Manasses, et Ephraim susceptio capitis mei. Juda rex meus ;
Galaad is mine: and Manasses is mine and Ephraim the protection of my head. Juda is my king:
Ἐμός ἐστι Γαλαὰδ, καὶ ἐμός ἐστι Μανασσῆς, καὶ Ἐφραίμ ἀντίληψις τῆς κεφαλῆς μου· Ἰούδας βασιλεύς μου,
לִ֤/י גִלְעָ֨ד ׀ לִ֤/י מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה וְ֭/אֶפְרַיִם מָע֣וֹז רֹאשִׁ֑/י יְ֝הוּדָ֗ה מְחֹקְקִֽ/י ׃
107:10 Moab lebes spei meae : in Idumaeam extendam calceamentum meum ; mihi alienigenae amici facti sunt.
Moab the pot of my hope. Over Edom I will stretch out my shoe: the aliens are become my friends.
Μωὰβ λέβης τῆς ἐλπίδος μου· ἐπὶ τὴν Ἰδουμαίαν ἐπιβαλῶ τὸ ὑπόδημά μου, ἐμοὶ ἀλλόφυλοι ὑπετάγησαν.
מוֹאָ֤ב ׀ סִ֬יר רַחְצִ֗/י עַל ־ אֱ֭דוֹם אַשְׁלִ֣יךְ נַעֲלִ֑/י עֲלֵֽי ־ פְ֝לֶ֗שֶׁת אֶתְרוֹעָֽע ׃
107:11 Quis deducet me in civitatem munitam ? quis deducet me usque in Idumaeam ?
Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
Τίς ἀπάξει με εἰς πόλιν περιοχῆς; ἢ τίς ὁδηγήσει με ἕως τῆς Ἰδουμαίας;
מִ֣י יֹ֭בִלֵ/נִי עִ֣יר מִבְצָ֑ר מִ֖י נָחַ֣/נִי עַד ־ אֱדֽוֹם ׃
107:12 nonne tu, Deus, qui repulisti nos ? et non exibis, Deus, in virtutibus nostris ?
Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off ? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our armies?
Οὐχὶ σὺ ὁ Θεὸς ὁ ἀπωσάμενος ἡμᾶς; καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύσῃ ὁ Θεὸς ἐν ταῖς δυνάμεσιν ἡμῶν;
הֲ/לֹֽא ־ אֱלֹהִ֥ים זְנַחְתָּ֑/נוּ וְֽ/לֹא ־ תֵצֵ֥א אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים בְּ/צִבְאֹתֵֽי/נוּ ׃
107:13 Da nobis auxilium de tribulatione, quia vana salus hominis.
O grant us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Δὸς ἡμῖν βοήθειαν ἐκ θλίψεως, καὶ ματαία σωτηρία ἀνθρώπου.
הָֽבָ/ה ־ לָּ֣/נוּ עֶזְרָ֣ת מִ/צָּ֑ר וְ֝/שָׁ֗וְא תְּשׁוּעַ֥ת אָדָֽם ׃
107:14 In Deo faciemus virtutem ; et ipse ad nihilum deducet inimicos nostros.]
Through God we shall do mightily: and he will bring our enemies to nothing.
Ἐν τῷ Θεῷ ποιήσομεν δύναμιν, καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξουδενώσει τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ἡμῶν.
בֵּֽ/אלֹהִ֥ים נַעֲשֶׂה ־ חָ֑יִל וְ֝/ה֗וּא יָב֥וּס צָרֵֽי/נוּ ׃
