45:1 Verbum quod locutus est Jeremias propheta ad Baruch filium Neriae, cum scripsisset verba haec in libro ex ore Jeremiae, anno quarto Joakim filii Josiae regis Juda, dicens :
*H The word that Jeremias the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Nerias, when he had written these words in a book, out of the mouth of Jeremias, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, saying:
Ver. 1. Book, which Joakim burnt, and sought the life of the prophets. C. xxxvi. C. — Baruch apprised of the general distress, weeps for it, and his life is spared. W.
51_31 Ὁ ΛΟΓΟΣ ὋΝ ἘΛΑΛΗΣΕΝ ἹΕΡΕΜΙΑΣ Ὁ ΠΡΟΦΗΤΗΣ πρὸς Βαροὺχ υἱὸν Νηρίου, ὅτε ἔγραφε τοὺς λόγους τούτους ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ ἀπὸ στόματος Ἱερεμίου, ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῷ τετάρτῳ Ἰωακεὶμ υἱῷ Ἰωσία βασιλέως Ἰούδα.
הַ/דָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֤ר דִּבֶּר֙ יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַ/נָּבִ֔יא אֶל בָּר֖וּךְ בֶּֽן נֵֽרִיָּ֑ה בְּ/כָתְב/וֹ֩ אֶת הַ/דְּבָרִ֨ים הָ/אֵ֤לֶּה עַל סֵ֨פֶר֙ מִ/פִּ֣י יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ בַּ/שָּׁנָה֙ הָֽ/רְבִעִ֔ית לִ/יהוֹיָקִ֧ים בֶּן יֹאשִׁיָּ֛הוּ מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֖ה לֵ/אמֹֽר
45:2 Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israel ad te, Baruch :
Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel to thee, Baruch:
51_32 Οὕτως εἶπε Κύριος ἐπὶ σοὶ Βαροὺχ,
כֹּֽה אָמַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עָלֶ֖י/ךָ בָּרֽוּךְ
45:3 Dixisti : Vae misero mihi ! quoniam addidit Dominus dolorem dolori meo : laboravi in gemitu meo, et requiem non inveni.
Thou hast said: Woe is me, wretch that I am, for the Lord hath added sorrow to my sorrow: I am wearied with my groans, and I find no rest.
51_33 ὅτι εἶπας, οἴμοι οἴμοι, ὅτι προσέθηκε Κύριος κόπον ἐπίπονόν μοι, ἐκοιμήθην ἐν στεναγμοῖς, ἀνάπαυσιν οὐχ εὗρον·
אָמַ֨רְתָּ֙ אֽוֹי נָ֣א לִ֔/י כִּֽי יָסַ֧ף יְהוָ֛ה יָג֖וֹן עַל מַכְאֹבִ֑/י יָגַ֨עְתִּי֙ בְּ/אַנְחָתִ֔/י וּ/מְנוּחָ֖ה לֹ֥א מָצָֽאתִי
45:4 Haec dicit Dominus : Sic dices ad eum : Ecce quos aedificavi, ego destruo, et quos plantavi, ego evello, et universam terram hanc :
Thus saith the Lord: Thus shalt thou say to him: Behold, them whom I have built, I do destroy: and them whom I have planted, I do pluck up, and all this land.
51_34 Εἰπὸν αὐτῷ, οὕτως εἶπε Κύριος, ἰδοὺ οὓς ἐγὼ ᾠκοδόμησα, ἐγὼ καθαιρῶ· καὶ οὓς ἐγὼ ἐφύτευσα, ἐγὼ ἐκτίλλω.
כֹּ֣ה תֹּאמַ֣ר אֵלָ֗י/ו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֤ה אֲשֶׁר בָּנִ֨יתִי֙ אֲנִ֣י הֹרֵ֔ס וְ/אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר נָטַ֖עְתִּי אֲנִ֣י נֹתֵ֑שׁ וְ/אֶת כָּל הָ/אָ֖רֶץ הִֽיא
45:5 et tu quaeris tibi grandia ? noli quaerere, quia ecce ego adducam malum super omnem carnem, ait Dominus, et dabo tibi animam tuam in salutem in omnibus locis ad quaecumque perrexeris.
*H And dost thou seek great things for thyself? Seek not: for behold I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord! but I will give thee thy life, and save thee in all places whithersoever thou shalt go.
Ver. 5. Great: the spirit of prophecy; (Rabbins) or rather to be exempted from suffering, while all the neighbouring nations were perishing. C. — And save. Lit. "for salvation." Heb. "booty." H. — He seems to have been set at liberty with his master. C. xl. 1. C.
51_35 Καὶ σὺ ζητήσεις σεαυτῷ μεγάλα; μὴ ζητήσῃς, ὅτι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω κακὰ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν σάρκα, λέγει Κύριος· καὶ δώσω τὴν ψυχήν σου εἰς εὕρημα ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ οὗ ἐὰν βαδίσῃς ἐκεῖ.
וְ/אַתָּ֛ה תְּבַקֶּשׁ לְ/ךָ֥ גְדֹל֖וֹת אַל תְּבַקֵּ֑שׁ כִּ֡י הִנְ/נִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא רָעָ֤ה עַל כָּל בָּשָׂר֙ נְאֻם יְהוָ֔ה וְ/נָתַתִּ֨י לְ/ךָ֤ אֶֽת נַפְשְׁ/ךָ֙ לְ/שָׁלָ֔ל עַ֥ל כָּל הַ/מְּקֹמ֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּֽלֶךְ שָֽׁם
